Global Goals Centre are holding a brand new competition, Earth Day Heroes, for young people with a passion for the planet.

Leading environmental campaigner, Dr Mya-Rose Craig ‘Birdgirl’ lead the Launch event on Thursday 24 April at Sparks Bristol, as part of the global Earth Day celebrations. She  invited young people aged 7-25 to become an Earth Hero and create a project to raise awareness and take action on environmental issues that matter to them, their school and their community. The aim is that the projects created will bring lasting change and spur a ripple effect of positive practical community action. 

All projects that are entered will be recognised at an Awards Ceremony at Sparks Bristol on 30 September 2025. Every entry will receive an Acorn, Sapling or Mighty Oak award, and the winners will receive a trophy for their group.

Young people will be encouraged to explore some of the world’s most pressing themes through a focus on how energy might be saved in the : water, transport, biodiversity, food, recycling and waste. Clean energy can change the world, improving health, wellbeing and climate.

Earth Day Heroes is run by award-winning education charity, Global Goals Centre, Bristol Education Partnership and Green Schools Project.
