The New Room in Bristol Shopping Quarter, the oldest Methodist chapel in the world, has a lot going on in the lead up to Christmas and yet also provides a quiet haven for anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle for a few minutes!

Carols by Candlelight
Taking place at 1pm and 6pm on Wednesday 18 December 2019, these services will feature a number of popular carols including Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, written by Charles Wesley, in the chapel where it was first sung in 1739.
Visit Charles Wesley’s House
Charles Wesley’s House, at number 4 Charles Street near Stokes Croft, will open for just four pre-bookable tours on the mornings of 28 November and 5, 14 and 19 December. The house – built in 1742 – was home to the hymn-writer Charles Wesley and his family from 1749-1771 and is normally only available for group bookings. Find out more HERE.
‘Away in a Stable’
Monday 23 December, 2pm. An all-age Christmas tale, told outside a real stable.
This event will be held inside in the event of bad weather.
Cards for Good Causes pop-up shop
The Cards for Good Causes pop-up shop will be selling charity Christmas cards, stocking fillers, wrapping paper and more in the Chapel from 5 November to 16 December.
