An autumnwear collection with a 70s feel
Designed by the presenter herself, Emma’s latest collection is adaptable and transitional, with tailored pieces, dresses, shirts and footwear that are perfect for easing from warmer weather to crisper months. With pops of pink, paisley prints and wide leg trousers, the edit has a decidedly 70s feel – something that was intentional from the very start.
“The colour palette and print inspiration for this collection came from a 70’s vibe that everybody involved in the design process was really feeling. In the last collection we had a gorgeous pink and blue paisley print on some of the swim and beachwear and it was so lovely we thought we’d carry it on from there but in the new season colours and on a different scale,” says the presenter.
Stylish, comfortable pieces with soft fabrics
Like Emma’s previous collections, comfort and functionality are key components within the latest range. Ensuring her pieces are both chic and comfortable at the same time has always been at the forefront of Emma’s philosophy as a designer. Tailored pieces like the pink relaxed jacket and wide leg trousers are made from soft and lightweight fabrics for a more comfortable fit. Additionally, the September collection’s relaxed, straight leg trousers are easy to wear and adaptable to suit any occasion.
Emma’s enthusiasm for this piece is clear to see:
“LOVE LOVE LOVE the relaxed straight leg trousers, I’d been looking for a pair of trousers in that cut for such a long time so instead of searching anymore we’ve made them which is amazing! We’ve done them in a khaki and a navy, they’re super easy to wear, really comfortable, I’ll either wear them with a trainer or pop on with a little heel for going out.”
Emma’s top picks from the collection
Emma has always been a big fan of effortless style and outfits that can be thrown on at a moment’s notice and still look stylish. For that reason, her go-to piece in the current collection is the black co-ord. Classic and considered, it’s a wardrobe staple and one of Emma’s favourite items.
“When I’m going somewhere where I have to think about what I’m going to wear I get a bit flustered. So if I can reach for something that I know is quite classic and considered, but really easy to just throw on together I’m happy…for me the black co-ord is that easy pick out of the wardrobe if I’m going somewhere and I need to look a bit smarter.”
When it comes to styling day-to-night pieces that can make the transition from coffee-fuelled mornings to evening drinks, Emma has designed relaxed suits to fit the bill. No longer just for the boardroom, these can be dressed up or down depending on your preference, as Emma explains:
“A favourite of mine is the camel suit… I love suits, mainly to wear with a trainer and a t-shirt but I didn’t own one in this colour, we’ve gone quite 70’s with shape and colour palette for this season.”
