The Etsy Made Local winter pop-up will be open in The Galleries from Friday 16 November until Sunday 23 December, offering Bristol shoppers an array of unique Christmas gifts.
Etsy Made Local winter pop-up shop
The Bristol Etsy Team and Instagram collective Bristol Girl Bosses are collaborating to bring the Etsy Made Local winter pop-up shop to The Galleries. It will be open on the first floor (next to Waterstones), seven days a week from 16 November until 23 December.
Customers will be spoilt for choice as they can shop locally designed and made products including artwork, stationery, ceramics, fashion, accessories, knitwear, children’s gifts, and stylish homeware.
Colin Lang, centre manager of The Galleries, says: “We’re really excited to be welcoming such a great variety of Etsy sellers into The Galleries in time for Christmas.
“We’re very passionate about supporting the Bristol community and local enterprise, so we hope this gives these independent businesses an opportunity to showcase their crafts, as well as giving our customers greater choice when making their Christmas gift purchases.”
The Etsy Made Local winter pop-up shop will be open 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays. On Thursdays in December there will be late shopping until 7pm.
Local Bedminster-based company KONK! have provided beautiful hand-crafted custom furniture for the shop, bringing effortless style and another incredible Bristol business to the space.
Their founder, Alex Ratcliffe, says: “We’re super excited to finally put a small selection of work on show here in Bristol. And even more so to see it covered in all the other local, handmade goods at the pop-up.
“As an online business, our customers don’t always get the chance to see our furniture in the flesh and get a feel for the quality and materials. Hopefully, those visiting the shop will appreciate the craft and effort that goes into making each piece – a craft that separates us from larger, chain retailers.”
Etsy Made Local Market at City Hall
The Bristol Etsy Team will also be hosting a two-day Etsy Made Local market at City Hall on 1 and 2 December. It is part of a national weekend event that will see the biggest regional spread of connected markets across the UK. In total 54 cities from across the UK will celebrate the makers, designers and collectors that sell on Etsy.com, the online marketplace for handmade, unique and vintage goods. There will be 129 Etsy designers and makers selling over the weekend.
The market will be open from 10am-5pm on Saturday 1 December and from 10am-4pm on Sunday 2 December
