Hope Against Suicide supporting Mental Health Awareness Week

Hope Against Suicide has launched a heartfelt new initiative: Pockets of Hope. These small, handmade items, lovingly crafted by volunteers are being placed across Bristol, each containing a personal message written by someone in the community during mental health week (12-18 May).
The aim is simple but powerful: to lift spirits, raise awareness for suicide prevention, and remind people they are not alone.
Each pocket holds a unique message of kindness, encouragement, or hope intended to offer comfort to whoever happens to find it. The charity hopes these unexpected moments of connection will inspire people to pause, reflect, and feel supported. Every single pocket has been handmade by someone who cares. Even a simple message on a hard day can change how someone feels. Everyone is encouraged to take one message to keep, to remind them they are not alone, and then leave the remaining messages for another individual who needs it to find.
