The Broadmead shopping area has been a Business Improvement District (BID) area since 2005.
Retailers voted for second and third BIDs in 2008 and 2013 and were given the option again in September 2018, when they were invited to take part in a ballot. A YES vote was achieved, and the fourth Broadmead BID will now run until 31 October 2023.
Ahead of the ballot, businesses were consulted and asked that between November 2018 and October 2023 we focus on the following aims:
Clean & welcoming – We will improve the cleansing standards to encourage more shoppers to visit.
Addressing anti-social issues/safety – We know that anti-social behaviour is on the rise nationally. We will work with the police and Bristol City Council to tackle this and we will work with businesses to reduce retail crime.
Marketing & promotion – We understand that marketing Broadmead, The Galleries, and Cabot Circus as ‘one great destination’ is best for everyone and we will continue to do this.
Business support – We understand that together, we are stronger – the BID will continue to lobby on your behalf and use our expertise to support businesses.
