Margaret Atwood's The Testaments - The Big Open-Mic Celebration

The team at Waterstones in The Galleries want to hear from talented individuals in Bristol who would like to take part in an open-mic celebration of Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments on Tuesday 10 September.

Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments – the big open-mic celebration

It is nearly 35 years since readers worldwide discovered Atwood’s masterpiece The Handmaid’s Tale – and the world in 2019 has blurred the fiction lines further…

You are invited to join the team at Waterstones as they celebrate the return to the Divine Republic of Gilead with The Testaments at a very special in-store event featuring Bristol’s own creative talent.

They are gathering authors, poets, spoken-words artists, musicians and performers to express themselves and share their works about Bristol and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Do you want to declare prose about dystopia? Speak in rhymes for feminism? Write a pamphlet or a song on how the city we live in makes you feel? They want to hear from you!
