Bears go to town
In celebration of the new Bear Wood exhibit that will open at Bristol Zoo’s Wild Place Project this July, we are teaming up with them for Bears Go To Town, a FREE family trail around Bristol Shopping Quarter, that’s Broadmead, The Arcade, The Galleries, and Cabot Circus, featuring more than 20 beautifully decorated 2D bears, each a metre tall.
The Bears Go To Town trail will run from Monday 22 July until Saturday 31 August – further details and downloadable trail map to follow soon!
Wildlife Craft Workshops and Bring a Bear Story Time at the New Room
Wildlife Craft Workshops
Aimed at: 5-11s (all children must be accompanied by an adult)
Dates: 25 July; 1, 8 & 15 August
Time: 11am and 1pm (each workshop lasts 1 hour)
Location: New Room Museum (on floor 2)
Price: £4 per child (adults free)

Bring a Bear Story Time
Aimed at: 0-5s (all children must be accompanied by an adult)
Dates: 30 July; 6 & 20 August
Time: 11am and 2pm (each session lasts approx. 30 minutes)
Location: The Horsefair Room at the New Room
Price: £3 per child (adults free)

#BearsGoToTown activity day at Cabot Circus
Join Bristol Zoo’s outreach team in Cabot Circus on Wednesday 14 August for a day of free fun including decorating a ‘bare bear’, a touch table, and learning activities. They will be there from 10:30AM until 4PM and it’s free – just drop in.
Mojito Beach Bar
You’ll get a taste of the riviera lifestyle right in the centre of Bristol Shopping Quarter this summer, thanks to the Mojito Beach Bar, complete with a sandy beach, which will be open on The Podium in Broadmead until September.
They are serving delicious cocktails, authentic Hawaiian beers and the best live music, creating an amazing atmosphere for you to have a great time with friends and family.
And they haven’t forgotten about the beach bar’s youngest visitors. As well as a great selection of soft drinks, there’s also table tennis, a variety of large outdoor games and a wide range of beach equipment to make use of. With so much to do, the little ones will be kept busy and will be sure to enjoy this unique beach experience just as much as Mum and Dad.

Brizzle Kidz workshops at The Galleries
If the kids are pulling your hair out and you’re longing for back to school before the holidays have barely begun, the team at The Galleries have got your back! Join them for a whole host of FREE crafty activities with the Brizzle Kidz this summer!
Every Thursday they’ll host a different craft workshop where the little ones can let their imaginations run riot as they knock out their own creative masterpiece to take home completely FREE.
Pirate fun at The Galleries
Bristol shoppers are invited to take their little buccaneers to join Captain Hook and Smee for some swashbuckling entertainment in The Galleries from 11AM – 4PM on Friday 26 & Saturday 27 July. They’ll be sailing in on the Jolly Roger to host two pirate shows each day and lots more sea-worthy shenanigans…

Roar at Cabot Circus
Go along to Cabot Circus for free dino family fun on Friday 26 July and Friday 23 August.
Meet a life-sized velociraptor as she interacts with your little ones. You’ll also get the chance to meet some of her friends, and learn more about the dinosaur species.
The event will be happening from 10am – 4pm on the Ground Floor outside House of Fraser.

Summer activities at Waterstones
From 22 July until 21 August you can take part in a treasure hunt to find all the bees hiding in the kids’ section of the shop and win a special prize. You can take part in origami workshops to make paper flowers and bees to take home. You can decorate your own bookmark. And you can enjoy pirate activities including puzzles and colouring.
The activities will be running all day, every day, and there’s no need to book, simply turn up, choose what you’d like to do, and one of their lovely booksellers will set you up.

Summer of Play at The Entertainer
