Prior pop-up now open in Quakers Friars

Prior, already well-known to Old Market shoppers, has opened a new pop-up in Quakers Friars.

The independent, modern eco lifestyle store will be open for six months, until the end of February 2022, showcasing over 150 of the UK’s leading contemporary sustainable designers.

Expect rich organic textiles comprising clothing, rugs, cushions and blankets, some dyed with natural pigments. A homeware section featuring unique, contemporary lighting, statement plant hangers and original artworks. The well-being collection consists of skincare using 100% organic ingredients, aromatherapy blends, everyday toiletries and home spa treats. The jewellery collection included eco-silver and fair-mined gold, zero waste collections and even a recycling service. And, let’s not forget the craft kits, greetings cards, reusable lunch bags and functional accessories.

Workshops in craft, design and business mentoring will be plentiful with multiple events timetabled on weekends and weekdays. Also within the store is a gallery space where you’ll find in-house artists and rotating art exhibitions.

The new store has super-sized their existing shop in Old Market, which opened two and a half years ago. Founder Becky says: “I wanted to carefully curate a space full of exceptional craftsmanship, selling sustainable and responsibly made products that I can confidently vouch for. I am really committed to creating a conscious, mindful and supportive shopping experience for customers and makers. We want to ensure everything we do creates positive impact for our local and wider community, and of course, the planet. We provide living wage employment and 100% of the profits will be fed back into community workshop provision, local creative projects to improve social issues, charity donations and more.”
