About the Bristol Wing
The Bristol Wing is located in Bristol’s historic old police station, which has been lovingly restored. It’s beautiful, with inviting communal areas and a great range of accommodation offering something for solo backpackers, couples, families, groups, and school parties.
Dating back to the 13th century, it’s a site with a rich history and has been home to a prison, the Chief Constable, a circus troupe, and a group of artists.
Much of its story is told on the walls, using a mix of newly commissioned artwork and pieces left by previous occupiers, a thin blue line wending its way up through the floors connecting all the elements. There’s something to see everywhere you look!
The Bristol Wing is run as a social business by YMCA Bristol. This means the money guests spend will be used to help support young people in the city, especially those that have faced tough stuff in life. As a charity, the YMCA is all about building strong communities where young people can thrive.
As well as all profits supporting the work of YMCA Bristol, they also provide training opportunities, work placements, and volunteering opportunities for young people.
The Kitchen, just across the courtyard from The Bristol Wing, is a well-loved part of Bristol’s cafe scene, renowned for producing tasty, fresh food using local suppliers.
It’s open from 7am until 3pm every day, with breakfast served until 10am and lunch from 12pm until 2.30pm.
Breakfast can be booked at reception. From Monday to Friday it’s continental style and priced at £3.95 per head including tea or coffee, fruit juice, toast, cereals, fruit, local yoghurt and hand-made granola.
At weekends a cooked breakfast is available at £6.95 per head. It includes all the above plus bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, tomatoes, baked beans, and hash browns.
Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
